
Selection Criteria
Each year the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame honors Polynesia’s greatest players, coaches, and contributors as Inductees into the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame.
Selection Criteria
- Hall of Fame Inductees can be selected as a Player, a Coach or as a Contributor.
- Any fan or family member may nominate any player, coach or contributor by simply writing to the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame.
- Players must be officially retired from playing professional football to be considered for induction as a Player.
- There is no mandatory retirement period for a Contributor or Coach before they may be considered.
Selection Process
- Finalists for the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame are selected from a field of nominees by the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
- Once Finalists are selected, all living Inductees and the Selection Committee will cast a final vote on the Finalists to select each year’s Class.
- The Finalists with the most votes are named to that year’s Class of Inductees.
- Finalists are announced in October and the Hall of Fame Class is announced in November.
Honoring The Inductees
- Each January, the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame will honor the Class of Inductees during the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend in Oahu, Hawai`i.
- Inductees receive a custom Hall of Fame Jacket and custom ring to commemorate their induction.
- The Inductees are also forever memorialized and honored at the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Gallery located inside the Polynesian Cultural Center.
